Day 1

Arrival at Bush Lodge, Sunset Drive, Pridelands (Balule Private Nature Reserve)

The private concession is what most first-time visitors only discover they should have asked for after their trip. Lower vehicle density. Routes that do not follow tar roads. The freedom to stop, wait, and work a sighting properly. You get this on day one.

Return to the lodge for dinner. The day ends in the estate, with the sounds of the reserve outside.

Road transfer from OR Tambo International Airport to Bush Lodge, Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate. Approximately 5 to 6 hours northeast through Mpumalanga. Transfer delivers guests directly to the lodge entrance.

Afternoon

Open-vehicle game drive on Pridelands, a private traversing concession within Balule Private Nature Reserve. Routes are not shared with public vehicles or other operators. No fixed route. Your guide sets the direction based on what is moving in the reserve that day. Exclusive open vehicle. Departs late afternoon, approximately 3 hours.

3 star Bush Lodge situated inside Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate, 400 hectares of conserved bushveld less than one kilometre from the Greater Kruger National Park boundary. Each suite is a free-standing unit with an en-suite bathroom, and a private verandah overlooking the natural bush. Home to general wildlife like Zebra, Giraffe, warthogs antelope and many others. At night, you fall asleep to lions and hyenas. This is not a hotel with a safari add-on. It is a bush lodge that happens to have everything you need. You arrive into the bush, not into a hotel corridor.

Day 2 to 4

Full-Day Open-Vehicle Safari, Kruger National Park (Orpen Gate)

An early departure for Orpen Gate, 60 km from the lodge. Orpen feeds into central Kruger: historically productive predator and elephant territory, and quieter than the southern gates at Phabeni or Malelane. You are not sharing the approach road with 200 vehicles from Johannesburg.

A full day inside the national park in the open safari vehicle. Your guide works from current sightings and ranger movement reports from the moment you enter. The vehicle does not leave the park until late afternoon. Full day means full day, not a half-day padded with lodge time.

As a boutique operator, we do not run large groups or rush around in convoy on a schedule. Your guide sets the route based on what is happening in the park that day.

You return to the Lodge in the late afternoon. Named lodge. Qualified guide. What you see is determined by the bush and your guide's knowledge across 2 million hectares.

Full-day safari inside Kruger National Park, entering via Orpen Gate, 60 km from Leopard's Lair. Historically productive predator and elephant territory. Your guide works current sightings and ranger movement reports throughout the day. Exclusive open safari vehicle. No shared bookings. No convoy. Departs early morning, returns late afternoon.

All Day

Second consecutive full day through Orpen Gate. Different routes, different habitat zones. Your guide works from the intelligence gathered the previous day, what was seen, what was tracked, what was not yet found. The vehicle does not repeat the same circuit. Departs early morning, returns late afternoon.

All Day

Third consecutive full day through Orpen Gate. By this morning your guide has a detailed working picture of the terrain built across two previous days. Routes are selected based on accumulated sightings intelligence. The probability of finding what has so far eluded the vehicle increases with each day in the field. Departs early morning, returns late afternoon.

Your second, third, and fourth nights at the Bush Lodge. The estate has hiking and cycling tracks, bird hides, and its own game drive routes. Giraffe and impala move through the property. The sounds of lions and hyenas carry across from the Kruger boundary after dark.

Day 5

Optional Sunrise Drive, Balule - Pridelands, Transfer to Johannesburg

For those who want to use the morning: an optional sunrise drive in Pridelands is available at R 1 390,00 per person. This is the quietest window on the private traversing routes. Predators are still moving from the night. The light is low, golden, and at its best for photography. The concession carries only a handful of vehicles at this hour, and your guide works the terrain with no public gate pressure and no schedule to keep. The same land you drove at sunset on day one, at the hour when it is most alive.

Breakfast at Lodge follows your return. A full cooked breakfast in the estate, with the bush still visible from the table. Take it slowly. The transfer does not rush you out.

Your road transfer to OR Tambo departs after breakfast. Approximately 5 to 6 hours south, arriving early to mid-evening. Five days. Two ecosystems. A private concession at sunset and sunrise. Three full days inside one of the world's great wildlife parks. That is what this package delivers.
